
Folking Fun Games with Kevin Campbell Davidson
As with folk songs, the spirit of folk games lives in the oral tradition. They are passed on from human to human, morphing and shape-shifting through the generations and across the lands. They are adapted for different groups, settings, times and cultures. In contract to the capitalist impulse to generate passive income from proprietary rights, these games belong to everyone.
In this workshop we’ll explore design principles and practical processes for playing WITH folk games. We’ll make up some new games which may have never been played before…
Kevin Davidson is an embodiment teacher specialising in education, child development and human flourishing through movement-play. He holds a BA in Jurisprudence from Oxford university, an MA in Education from Goldsmiths College and can jump remarkably high from a standing position.
